UNAB School of Medicine Receives Maximum Quality Certification by ANECA
The School of Medicine of Universidad Andrés Bello has been certified by the Spanish agency ANECA, highlighting its commitment to continuous improvement, efficiency in its processes, and institutional transparency.
The UNAB School of Medicine has reached an important milestone by receiving quality certification from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) for a maximum period of six years.
This recognition endorses the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SAIC), a system that operationalizes UNAB’s quality policy, promoting continuous improvement and strengthening its self-regulation capacity.
Keys to Certification
The Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Patricio Burdiles, emphasized that this achievement has been possible thanks to teamwork and faithful adherence to institutional guidelines. «Implementing SAIC has allowed for more efficient management, with quality processes that certify transparency and increase stakeholder satisfaction. It has also promoted the use of technologies to optimize activities and improve communication and the quality of information,» he explained.
Dr. Burdiles says that the efforts of the management teams, academics, and collaborators were crucial for complying with the quality assurance processes and promoting continuous improvement. This daily commitment drives the academic excellence of the School of Medicine.
Future Challenges
Dr. Patricio Burdiles, Dean of the School of Medicine UNAB
After obtaining ANECA certification, the School of Medicine’s main challenge is to maintain the efficient operation of the SAIC in all its academic units.
«Our goal is to continue to consistently deliver on processes and use the results to drive ongoing improvements,» the dean explained.
He also stressed the need to periodically adjust the system according to institutional guidelines and identify areas for improvement before implementing the corresponding actions.
The dean sincerely thanked all the teams that participated in the process, both in the School of Medicine and the central units of UNAB.
This achievement would not have been possible without their dedication and commitment, which have been fundamental to achieving this important recognition.
