UNAB is Ranked Among the Top 5 Universities in Chile in the CWUR Ranking 2023

The ranking developed by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) presents the top 2,000 universities in the world from more than twenty thousand institutions. Only 15 Chilean universities were included.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) recently published a list of the best universities in the world. This is the most extensive academic ranking of higher education institutions globally. In the 2023 version, Universidad Andrés Bello ranked fifth at the national level.

The top spot is held by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (ranked 390th globally), Universidad de Chile (438th), Universidad de Concepción (836th), Universidad Federico Santa María (894th), and Universidad Andrés Bello (1155th).

It is worth mentioning that of the 2,000 institutions that make up this ranking, only 15 of them are Chilean.

«We are extremely pleased to see that the work carried out by our students, academics, researchers, and graduates allows us to achieve a significant position at the national level in this ranking that measures the quality of thousands of universities around the world,» says Julio Castro, president of Universidad Andrés Bello, adding:

These results motivate us to continue advancing along the path we have charted for the coming years, focusing on the excellence of the education we deliver, the research carried out here, and providing our graduates with all the necessary tools to successfully develop in today’s working world.

Universidad Andrés Bello maintained its position compared to the previous measurement, remaining in fifth place among Chilean universities in the research variable and seventh place in the employability variable.

CWUR Ranking: Global Quality

This is the twelfth version of the prestigious CWUR ranking, which has been expanding its scope over time. It currently considers more than 20,000 institutions around the world to compile the measurement, and then presents the top 2,000.

The Center for World University Rankings rates universities based on four variables: education (25%), employability (25%), faculty (10%), and research (40%). It is the only ranking of this kind that assesses the quality of these four factors without using surveys or information provided by the institutions being measured.

The CWUR is a leading consulting organization, primarily dedicated to advising on public policy and strategy to improve education and research conducted around the world.
