Global Innovation Leader from Amazon Web Services (AWS) Gives Talk at UNAB

As part of its ongoing effort to explore the impact of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies on education, Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB) organized the Education of the Future speaker series—an initiative designed to bring together experts from diverse fields to reflect on how AI is transforming teaching, learning, academic management, and professional development.

The second session in the series featured Mike Tarrant, Global Director of EdTech and Higher Education at Amazon Web Services (AWS). A central focus of his presentation was the role of generative artificial intelligence in personalized learning. According to Tarrant, these tools can serve as virtual tutors—tools that do more than deliver answers; they also prompt students to think critically and reflect on their learning processes.

It is worth noting that the first session of the series was led by Sadid Hasan, a leading figure in AI at Microsoft’s New England Research and Development Center (NERD AI). Recognized as one of the 100 most influential AI experts in the United States, Hasan’s talk is available for replay on the University’s YouTube channel, UNAB TV.
